Hammersmith Tube SignEUCO 2008 is centred around the Hammersmith area of West London, here’s some interesting facts about Hammersmith:

  • The 1908 Olympics were hosted in White City, just north of the Globetrotter Inn
  • Hammersmith & Fulham is home to no less than three football clubs: Chelsea, Fulham and Queen’s Park Rangers
  • Linford Christie, Olympic gold medal winner at 100 metres, trained, lived and has a stadium named after him in Hammersmith

We’ve been expecting you…

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Well, with a mere 10 days, 15 hours and 30 minutes to go until the start of EUCO 2008, the tension is mounting… for what we hope will not only be the best EUCO yet, but one of the biggest and best Rotaract events during all the time that any of us have been in Rotaract!

Having been in Rotaract for 8 years now, and being a particular fan of EUCOs - having been on every one of them since 2003 - I am really looking forward to EUCO 2008 as being my best and most rewarding Rotaract experiences ever. EUCO has to be my favourite of all Rotaract events, and I was determined not to miss out on the opportunity to get involved in the organising.

For the last 18 months - since London won the bid to host EUCO - I have devoted a great deal of time and commitment to researching, writing and arranging sightseeing tours for EUCO 2008. Having experienced 5 EUCOs myself, I have been determined to make sure that we can offer delegates the best choice of sightseeing tours ever! London as a city has an unbelievable range of sightseeing opportunities to offer - with culture,  history and heritage both old and modern - and  with 8 different tours to choose from, there’s certainly something for everyone!

For anyone doing the James Bond Tour, I will be escorting you down to it on the Thursday and Saturday. If you haven’t yet signed up to our James Bond Tour, we still have places - it’s a great tour, which shows you many of the most popular tourist attractions in London, so do check it out on our website!

Another tour which will show you some of the most famous sights of London is of course our ‘Royal London’ Tour - which is another of my creations, with the valued help of one of my colleagues.

If you’re already seen many of the most popular tourist attractions of London or are looking for something a bit different, we have plenty of suggestions to offer you through our other tours - on which you’re bound to find out sometihng you did not know about London - about Serial Killers,  Rock Stars, Sporting venues, The Da Vinci Code and Theatrical shows, to name but a few examples.

During the last 12 months, I have spent numerous days out in London researching and writing material for ‘London Rocks’, ‘Da Vinci Code London’ and ‘Arts London’ (as well as the Royal London and our James Bond Tour). With the valued assistance of my colleagues in preparing these tours, I hope that the sightseeing of London will be one of your many highlights at EUCO 2008!

Looking forwrard to seeing both old and new faces at EUCO 2008!! :-)
